Established in 1985, Informazioni Editoriali is one of the pioneers of electronic publishing in Italy and among the most successful Internet information providers.
Specialized in the production of bibliographic databases, Informazioni Editoriali produces Alice CD, the Italian Books in Print catalogue on CD-ROM.

Informazioni Editoriali also realises the most important bibliographic products on CD-ROM and online: the National Italian Bibliography (BNI), the Catalogue of the National Library of Florence (BNCF), the 19th Century Italian Books Catalogue (CLIO), and, soon, the CUBI (the Reetrospective Italian Bibliography 1886-1957).
Since May 1996 the web site Alice.it (www.alice.it) is the reference Italian site for books and publishing. In its more than 6000 pages it contains unique information available only on the Internet.

Informazioni Editoriali also manages the Arianna system, the unified national communication system for book specialists, according to the EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) standards, which allows bookshops to send orders and sales data via computer to publishers and distributors, as well as catalogue updates and order feeds back.

Finally, Informazioni Editoriali owns 80% of Internet Bookshop Italia, the most important on-line Italian bookshop, in a joint venture with the W.H. Smith group. It offers a catalogue with more than 250,000 titles (the well stocked standard bookshops rarely exceed 70,000), express delivery, safe credit card payment channels, discounts up to 25%.
